Wall of Sound

I looked up more about the wall of sound and found there was a somewhat unique production recording process.  Phil Spector had a big room with a lot of different musicians playing different instruments in an attempt to blend the sound together - creating a "wall of sound."  Previously, I have taken the production of older songs for granted, but the production on Be My Baby and Da Doo Ron Ron by The Crystals are great.  To me, I hear a very open, airy, and clean sound from these songs that I really love.  I would not have guessed that this process took place but it definitely creates an awesome result.
