listening assignment

Fela Kuti - Zombie
This song was just beautiful. I got to the link and opened it up and was kinda bummed cause it's a pretty long song, but once I started listening to it I just I wasn't sad at all. I have no idea what instruments are used for this but it just felt right. Something very happy and full of life that you could very well listen in the streets of some towns I don't know where, somewhere in the US or maybe in Africa I don't know. Very nice song.

Bjork - Pagan Poetry
For this song I really liked the base of it, like the background. The instrumental I guess. Very happy and full of energy. Not like the actual lyrics at all. The lyrics where very monotonous and slow which made me get bored of ir really quick. Something I liked about it was the visuals though, I don't know what animation they used or what tool but it was very cool how everything was flowing between the real world and this white blob kind of thing.

Radiohead - Idioteque
I think that here, as in Pagan Poetry, the lyrics are kind of repetitive. But in this case they really work together and with a nice rhythm with the background. This background is very simple, at least seems like it, maybe so it doesn't take attention away from the lyrics. It does have that constant beat in the background that reminds you that's still there.

Led Zeppelin - Whole Lotta Love
I'm aware that Led Zeppelin used to be big, but to be honest they don't speak to me in any way. The song is poor, the lyrics don't transmit anything to me... The one thing they do have is a good guitarist though. The drummer doesn't do a bad job either. Great instrumental skills and rhythm, but just not my thing.

Captain Beefheart - Moonlight on Vermont
Great song. I'm not a fan of rock but this was kind of nice. I would like to emphasize the very beginning,
how the drum starts the song, is very special in my opinion. Very nice.
