Jam, Song, Cut and my personal song

I forgot what the difference was between song and cut, so I apologize if they are similar. Also, I am a songwriter so I added one of my songs I made. Enjoy!

My Jam
"Everything is Everything" - Lauryn Hill

My Song
"Umi Says" - Mos Def

My cut
"This World" - Zero 7

And this is one of my songs that I recorded last month called "Clay"

Song, Jam, Cut

All my years of watching High Fidelity should have prepared me better for this assignment and narrowing down my list (or at least my top five). So many more great songs I could argue for, but alas, here is my song, jam and cut.

My Song: "Home"
Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros

My Jam: "Maps" by Yeah Yeah Yeahs

My Cut: "Where is My Mind" by The Pixies
Maxence Cyrin's cover on the piano makes me very happy too.

3 Songs from Joe

This assignment seemed such a simple thing until I tried to write down my song list.  I have tons of songs in my head and shaving them down to three songs is very difficult. Also, it is hard not to get bogged down in the permanence in writing a list. Music is fluid and always changing, so for now....here is my list.

My Jam: "Impossible Germany" by Wilco
Not necessarily this version, but it is the best live version available, which is a requirement for this song. A close second from Wilco is "Jesus, Don't Cry"

My Song: "Wish You Were Here" by Pink Floyd
First song I learned on guitar and still love it.

My Cut: "Marry Song" by Band of Horses
For some reason, this song is super powerful for me.

Enjoy.

Song/Cut/Jam

So I found this very difficult to actually choose one song for the "Song" and "Jam" selections.  Maybe it's that I have a lot of music that I really love to jam out to, or maybe it's that I have a lot of friends who listen to all different sorts of music... I dunno.  Either way, I really wish I could have put in something by Deep Purple or Whitesnake, but these seemed to fit best right now.

My song:  Complexity by Boots Electric

My Cut:  Still Loving You by The Scorpions

My Jam:  Knucklebones by David Lee Roth

And just because that last one didn't have a fun music video or anything...
