Terry Riley: In C
I thought it was interesting to listen to it because it starts very dark and kind of scary, and then it starts moving to different directions which creates kind of a story. It's also interesting how the background beat doesn't change throughout the entire song. And then at the end it just plays the same note for like a minute, and then it just ends. Interesting piece.
John Chawning Stria
This is also a very scary piece in my opinion. I can tell because if I pause it i feel very relieved, and not because it's bad. A lot of eco's are used and it sounds very natural, like something that came out of nature maybe.
Steve Reich Come out
I'm not going to lie, i thought this was awful to listen to. I guess it's just not for me, from a subjective point, I think it's very bad. Objectively, I feel like it has no value whatsoever to music since it has no aparent beat, and it just repeats the same phrase over and over again. The video made it even more creepy. Not my thing.
Iannis Xenakis - Concret PH
So this one, I didn't find as creepy as "Come out" so I did enjoy it a bit more, although objectively it just sounds like small pieces of something falling to the floor which again, makes me ask myself if this can be considered music or just sound, or maybe noise.
