Granular Synth and Stochastic Music

Stochastic Music:

Stochastic elements can be generated by mathematical processes based on probability in music. These stochastic elements can be used to compose a fixed piece or can be produced in a performance. The result is stochastic music. The first person who created this type of music was Iannis Xenakis (he also came up with the name “stochastic music”). Iannis Xenakis was a composer, music theorist, and architect-engineer that was famous for his stochastic music. He was also an important influence on the development of electronic and computer music.
