Generative Music

Brian Eno is an English composer and musician who takes credit for creating the first of ambient music. He also popularized the term generative music which means the music that is created by a system which is ever-different and changing. The four primary perspectives of generative music include linguistic/structural, interactive/behavioral, creative/procedural, and biological/emergent. Trent Reznor leads nine inch nails, the industrial rock band whom i coincidentally recently saw this summer in San Francisco. He has also contributed to the albums of Marilyn Manson and Saul Williams. Robert Fripp is the lead guitarist for the progressive rock band King Crimson and a studio musician as well.
