Analogue Synth

Hello,

Since most peeps have already discussed analogue synthesis, I’m going to give a (very) brief description as well as some links I found resourceful.  All links are hyperlinked within words.

An analog synthesizer is basically a synthesizer that uses analogue synthesis- electronic analog techniques- to produce sound.

Analogue Synthesis “consists of 3 main components:
            VCO: Voltage Controlled Oscillator – produces basic tone, usually controlled via keyboard
            VCF: Voltage Controlled Filter- tone is fed into this which then changes the harmonic content of sound
            VCA: Voltage Controlled Amplitfier- controlled by an envelope generator to control the volume or loudness ‘shape’ of the sound"
