I picked Nicki Minaj's Super Bass, Instrumental version, for many reasons. First of all you start of with this ridiculous spread of pitched claves and super spaced synths. The spacing is in part due to the stereo imagers Manny Marroquin put on almost all of the instruments. On top of that, the ping pong delays add a just a little bit more to the wide image. This free space in the middle is so incredibly refreshing. With a name like super bass you'd think the kick and bass voices would each up the middle, but he does an amazing job at taming them so they punch but dont interfere with the atmosphere. This sound scape makes me feel like I'm in outer space, Minaj looks she is half the time.
