Weekend Listening

Genesis: Carpet Crawlers- very chill and relaxing. The first minute the vocals and the fast paced beat didn’t sync well but then the low bass started playing and synced the fast pace beat and the vocals. The music was very soothing and peaceful. It made me feel like my body was a wave in the middle of  a giant sea.

YES: Long Distance Runaround- the beginning was very upbeat and energetic, when the vocals started there was a shift in mood and pace. This pattern continued throughout the music. That along with the rhythm of the vocals and guitars kept the song unpredictable and interesting. I could pick and choose parts of the song that doesn't sound like they could be part of the same song. The transitions are fast but natural. This song was a journey.

Pink Floyd: One of these days-   Some parts like in the wind in the beginning where very ominous and then the guitars and drums began and it became very fun. The music gave me a sense of confidence  and mystery. Towards the middle the song became almost dark and you could almost hear this low voice for a few seconds. Most of the song was full of suspense and the a nice pay off when the guitars and drums pick up again.
